It has already broken record to become the most viewed Disney debut trailer ever. If that doesn’t prove the point, we wonder what else will.
And boy, was it indeed a teaser! Released on 22 November, the trailer of the live-action remake of Lion King was viewed a whopping 224.6 million times in 24 hours! The only trailer that beats it to the most watched trailer of all time is Avengers: Infinity War trailer.
To the entire pride: Thank you for helping the teaser trailer for #TheLionKing become the most-viewed Disney trailer debut ever as it reached a record-breaking 224.6 million global views in 24 hours! pic.twitter.com/HSmWxS9YQp

In what looks like the opening scenes of the movie, we see the sun rising over an exotic African savannah followed by Mufasa’s baritone voice saying the famous line, “Everything the light touches is our kingdom.” The trailer’s focus is the scene where a cute, doe-eyed baby Simba is presented to the Pride Lands by Rafiki. Going by how this made us feel, the remake will be everything you imagine it to be, only with more colour and emotion.
We all want to be reminded of our childhood again and twitter agrees with us. Reactions have been off the hook:
